★冨岡八幡宮でとりおこなわれます横綱稀勢の里 刻名式のご案内でございます★

ここ東京では6月にはいり、湿度が低くからっとした気持ちの良い日が続いておりますが、皆様の地域では如何でございますか？

さて、当ホテルの横にございます富岡八幡宮では、境内の「横綱力士碑」での横綱稀勢の里の刻名式が平成29年6月9日 (金)にとりおこなわれます。

このブログでもかなり前に境内にある相撲関係の石碑につきまして、「勧進相撲の発祥の地~富岡八幡宮」（←こちらを参照してみてくださいね）というタイトルで紹介させていただきましたが、その中の「横綱力士碑」につきまして簡単におさらいさせていただきますと、

富岡八幡宮は、江戸時代に「勧進相撲の発祥の地」だったということで、相撲に関係した石碑が沢山建てられており、中でも本殿から右手裏に入って行った所に明治33年に建てられた「横綱力士碑」という巨大な石碑がございます。富岡八幡宮境内では、力士が横綱に昇進いたしますと、「横綱力士碑」に横綱の名前を刻む「刻名式」という儀式がとりおこなわれ、横綱立ちあいのもと歴代の横綱の名前が石碑に刻まれます。

2014年10月7日には、2014年5月に横綱に昇進した71代目横綱鶴竜力三郎の刻名式と刻名奉告祭がとりおこなわれました。石碑には鶴竜力三郎の名前が確認できます。

そして6月9日には、今年3月に横綱に昇進した72代目横綱稀勢の里寛の刻名式と刻名奉告祭がとりおこなわれますので、富岡八幡宮に足を運んでみては如何ですか？詳しくは富岡八幡宮のHPをチックしてみてくださいね。

"KOKUMEI CEREMONY for Yokozuna Kisenosato at the Tomioka Hachiman Shrine"

Since Sumo wrestling was first performed in the precinct of the Tomioka Hachiman Shrine for the purpose of collecting funds to build or renew shrines in Edo era, this entertainment style has been called KANJINZUMO. There are lots of stone monuments with regards to the Sumo as the birthplace of the Kanjinzumo in the precinct of the Shrine.

The KOKUMEI CEREMONY, which carves the name for the Yokozuna Kisenosato who is a Sumo wrestler promoted to the rank of Yokozuna (a Sumo wrestler in the highest rank) on the stone monument at the Tomioka Hachiman Shrine, will be held on June 9. Why don't you join this ceremony and you will experience this wonderful aspect of Japanese culture.
