Sengakuji

Sengakuji

Sengaku-ji is known for the graves of 47 rōnin.
Forty-seven rōnin are the leaderless samurai who avenged the death of their master at Akō incident. The story has been portrayed as “Chūshingura” in various TV shows and stage plays depicting their devotion and loyalty to their master, this compelling story has evoked a sincere empathy with each audiences.
On the way to Sengaku-ji, there are several tombstones relating to Chūshingura.
