★皇居乾通りの桜が今年も一般公開されておりました★

東京では3月下旬は平年よりも気温が高く、日によって夏日の日などもございましたので、例年よりもかなり早く桜が満開になりましたが皆様の地域では如何でございますか?

そんな中、今年も皇居乾通りの桜の一般公開が(3月26日~4月1日まで)ございまして、早速皇居乾通りに行ってまいりました。こんな機会でもない限りなかなか入場できない場所でございますので、貴重な体験をさせていただきました。

皇居乾通りには坂下門からだけの入場になるとのことでしたので、東京駅の丸の内側から皇居をめざしました。皇居方面に行くと、方向オンチの私でも多数の警察官の誘導に従って迷わず坂下門方面に向かえました。そして、視線の先には一般公開に訪れた人たちの長蛇の列が観えてまいりました。

坂下門の手前では手荷物検査とボディチェックがございまして、この日は約20分ぐらいの待ち時間で、難なく検査を終えることができました。そこからいざ坂下門に向かいます~。

　　

坂下門の入り口と右手には城壁と桜が観えてまいりました。

　

坂下門をくぐり少し歩いてゆきますと、左手に宮殿への道と宮内庁庁舎がございました。

　

その地点から乾門まで、通りの左右に咲いておりました桜を堪能させていただきました。ソメイヨシノ以外の沢山の種類の桜が目を楽しませてくれます。又、お堀の城壁の上の富士見多聞をバックにソメイヨシノ観賞はなんとも風情がありますよね。

　

道灌濠と桜のコントラストが素晴らしく、この地点では沢山の入場者が写真を撮っていました。「2~3枚写真を撮ったら、他のお客様に場所を譲ってください~」と警備の人が言っていたくらい写真撮影の激戦区でございました。

　

桜以外にもヤマブキの花が美しく咲いていて目を引きました。そして右手には乾濠がございました。

乾門が観えてまいりました。一般公開では坂下門から入り、乾門から出るコースと、東御苑に抜けるコースがあり、今回は乾門から出るコースを選びました。坂下門から乾門まで約750メートルです。

乾門を抜けると、右手に美しい枝垂れ桜がございました。

今回はお花見を通して貴重な経験をさせていただきました。紅葉の時期も一般公開が行われているようですので、興味のある方は、是非宮内庁のホームページを参照になさってみてください。

"Cherry blossoms along the Inui Street at Imperial Palace"

In Tokyo, the temperature has been higher than average at the end of March. So, the cherry blossoms were at full bloom much earlier than usual. How is it in your area?

The Inui Street at the Imperial Palace has been made public this season for cherry blossom viewing. Since it is a place that we can not easily enter unless there is such a chance, I went there immediately. I had a valuable experience there.

I aimed for the Sakashita Gate- the only entrance to the Imperial Palace from the Marunouchi side of the Tokyo Station. When I was approaching the Imperial Palace, I saw a long line of visitors. Before entering the Sakashita Gate, we had both belongings and body checked. After 20 minutes I was finally allowed to enter.

I was impressed to see something that is rarely seen such as the Imperial Agency Building. The cherry blossoms there were also very beautiful. It was very hard to take pictures of the cherry blossoms there because of so many visitors.

It is approximately 750 meters from the Sakashita Gate to Inui Gate. It is both the regular course to enter from the Sakashita Gate to Inui Gate and from the Sakashita Gate in the direction of the Higashigyoen.
